Mayqueen began in the Spring 2018 in Portland Oregon as the project of Zoë Senise and Tommy Celt. The song were written by Zoë Senise and brought into being with a lot of support (both instrumentally and emotionally) from Tommy Celt. The band’s existence was ephemeral and meaningful, reflecting on the idealized months preceding an inevitable collapse. The songs on “BABY” were written with an awareness of the liminal space of bliss that comes before a premeditated state of darkness and alienation. The birth of “BABY” is bittersweet: though detached from its point of origin, it represents the love that brought it into existence
